Copyright Free Photos ???

Where are the best places to find copyright free astronomy and archaeoastronomy (ancient stone observatories) photos???

    By legal definition, there is no such thing as copyright free material (one does not have to file for copyright protection to get it, but doing so greatly improves ones ability to enforce copyright). What you want is someplace where the photographer has DECLARED the images to be in the public domain. For that you are best off looking at amateur sites - no professional photographer would ever give-up their copyright, after all it is how they make a living.

    Outside that suggestion, I have no idea.

      Aren't NASA and ESA astronomy pics all public domain?

      I think at least Hubble's is.....:
